Intermediate English Class

Intermediate is an advanced English course for students who already have some fluency in English. The course focuses on developing students’ written, listening and spoken English skills so they can communicate confidently and effectively in English. Students who complete the course should be able to do or know the following:
  • Listen to natural speech and conversation and understand details, and contribute appropriately.
  • Express themselves better, including sharing opinions, talking about feelings and general emotions, talking about past habits.
  • Improve their written communication by being able to craft emails and letters to friends, family, employers, etc.
  • Confidently use conventional social language in greeting and welcoming people.
  • Talk about hypothetical situations in the past and present and speculate about the present and future.
  • Read authentic texts such as newspapers and magazines and more advanced books and understand the general meaning.

Registration Information

Students who wish to register for a course will first need to sit a placement exam, to determine which course is most suitable for them. There is no charge for sitting the placement exam. Once students have completed the placement exam and their course level is determined, they can register for their course by paying the full fee of Rs. 20,000. Current students at SVS School for English do not need to sit a placement exam, and can simply register for their next course at any time during the school term.
